Leaving Boquete Valley, we will take a scenic drive towards Caldera where we begin our short guided hike in search of the Jä Wäkta waterfall. The access to the waterfalls is on private property that the indigenous community shares with locals and tourists alike for a small fee already included in your tour. It is important for us to support the local indigenous after all. Your guide will lead you through a 15 minute hike through the cloud forest trails and pastures leading to the Ja Wakta waterfall.

Exploring Ja Wakta Falls

Jä Wäkta was named by the indigenous Ngäbe of that region. Basically translated, Ja Wakta means flat rock. This flat rock formation is what makes this waterfall an ideal location to spend the day exploring, sun bathing, swimming in the crystal clear water, and taking epic photos for your social media. And for the more daring, there are cliffs as high as 8 meters (26ft) that jut out over the deep waterfall pools for those wanting to take the leap!
